Hi there,
anyone successful with connecting an HP48 (GX here) to a modern Mac
running macOS 10.13?
I connected mine via the original HP 4-pin to RS232 9-pin-cable and an
RS232 to USB cable (this one from UGREEN with FTDI chipset:
http://www.ugreen.com.cn/product-681-en.html – works perfectly with my
Apple Newtons).
Then, via Homebrew, I installed C-Kermit 9 on my Mac.
Then I found this http://www.columbia.edu/kermit/hp48.html and
configured kermit on my Mac accordingly (using my serial device, of
course, not COM1).
I set wired everything up and put the HP48GX into server mode.
I tried to send a short file (HP's INPRT.GX) and, indeed, the HP48's
screen confirmes that it wants to receive this file. Alas, no packets
get received. :-(
Anyone more lucky than me? I'd be grateful for any hints!
Thanks a lot,
Stefan.
